In this video I discuss how to still maintain a healthy and fulfilling relationship with a disability. Around five years ago I broke my neck after falling down the stairs, which left me paralysed from the chest down. Having to rediscover myself as a woman in my new state, took some time, as I was extremely self-conscious of not only my physical change but also my ability to take part in the bedroom. After a few months of rediscovering the new me and us in the bedroom, we soon figured out a rhythm and a way of still being able to enjoy a healthy sex life. I wanted to make this video as I feel that sexuality and disability is not expressed enough and society may see people with disabilities incapable of doing such things. Hopefully this video will help inspire and motivate others. He is the author of several award-winning books, the President of a nonprofit organization called Laughing At My Nightmare, and a renowned public speaker who has performed across the country at places such as Harvard University, The University of Florida, The University of Connecticut, Princeton University, and many more. Hannah just graduated from Carleton College, where she studied Sociology and Anthropology. Her future aspirations include attending graduate school and owning a goat sanctuary. She films and edits the “Squirmy and Grubs” vlog. Shane and Hannah have been dating for 4+ years and living together in Minneapolis for 2 years. On June 15th, 2019 they got engaged!!!! Their interabled relationship often confuses people, because much of society still cannot fathom people with disabilities being involved in loving, intimate relationships. Anyone who watches these episodes will quickly see their relationship is just as “normal” as any other. Sure, Hannah helps Shane use the bathroom and brush his teeth, but those activities do not detract from the emotional, intellectual, and physical connection they experience together.

(SEX)ABLED: DISABILITY UNCENSORED - celebrates people with disabilities as sexual beings. This 15-minutedocumentary increases visibility for an often ignored population by addressing stereotypes that hinder sexual growth. Viewers are introduced to a community of sexually active disabled people. Community members expose the truth by pulling back the curtain to their sexual lives. (Sex)abled reveals that everyBODY is capable of being sexual. The documentary features participants of the discussion panel sponsored by University of California Berkeley's Disabled Students Union called "Are Cripples Screwed?" The panel is conducted several times a year and addresses issues surrounding sex, romance and intimacy that people of all bodies can relate to.
