From the Grave

This gif was a fun side project. I wanted to play with character development and experiment with the movement of material. The illustration style is very animated and not true to realistic forms. I wanted to take a rather dark concept and make it fun and appealing to children.

Design Process

The process began with creating the grim reaper character. I had to determine if I wanted him to look cute, creepy, friendly, mysterious, etc. The character I chose was more friendly in nature to appeal to children. The darker color palette is meant to reflect the gloomy nature of the graveyard setting.
